How to Enforce a Judgment or Arbitral Award in Dubai
Winning is only half the job: a judgment or award must be enforced against the debtor's assets. In the UAE this can involve the execution courts, the DIFC Courts or ADGM Courts, and recognition of foreign awards under the New York Convention, to which the UAE is a party. Enforcement and recovery actions can be funded, subject to review.

Domestic judgments
Onshore judgments are enforced through the execution process of the relevant court. DIFC Courts judgments can be enforced onshore in Dubai through the established referral procedures.
Arbitral awards
The UAE is a party to the New York Convention, so foreign arbitral awards can be recognised and enforced, subject to the Convention's limited grounds for refusal.
Funding enforcement
Asset tracing, enforcement proceedings and recovery actions can be funded where the debtor has reachable assets. Enforcement prospects are a core part of every funding review.
